On the 5th floor of the Okura Prestige Tower, Orchid Bar is the hotel’s main bar, with a calm atmosphere and a sense of understated grandeur. Open from 15 in the afternoon until late, it suits a range of occasions, from an early tea or aperitif to a quiet conversation in the evening.
Refined cocktails, from signatures to classics
The varied cocktail list is prepared with care by the bartenders, and makes for an enjoyable choice alongside the bottles displayed behind the counter. Signatures include Ishizue, combining Hibiki whisky with white peach liqueur, and the bright Kirameki; familiar classics such as mojitos and martinis are also available. Wine, champagne and whisky feature alongside coffee and other soft drinks, so there are options for those who would rather not drink alcohol.
Substantial Western dishes and snacks to enjoy with a drink
Orchid Bar’s food menu also has plenty for guests looking for a proper meal. Choices include filling sandwiches such as the beef fillet steak sandwich and club sandwich, as well as familiar Western dishes including hayashi rice, omurice and shrimp pilaf. For something to nibble with a drink, there are olives, nuts and assorted cheeses, along with chocolate and distinctive Dashi butters, including one with rum raisin and cranberry.
The spacious interior has a bar counter and comfortable sofa seating. Attentive table service adds to the calm, unhurried feel. Reservations are available, making it a fitting setting for a conversation with someone special or a quiet end to the day.
